How can I activate a licence?

There are several scenarios when activating a Cover 3D licence, depending on the version of your software.


If you have a version prior to Cover 3D 2.1:


Unfortunately, you cannot activate your licence alone. Please contact our licence service at licences@cover3d.com, who will advise you on how to proceed.


If you have a version equal or superior to Cover 3D 2.1:


An e-mail is sent to you when you purchase your licence and contains all the information you need to activate it, including your key number. Simply follow the instructions in the activation e-mail.

If you have not received the activation e-mail, please check your spam folder.


What are the steps to activate your licence?


  1. Install the Cover 3D software. To find out more, see our guide.
  2. Launch your software.
  3. If no licence is installed, the following window will appear:



  4. Complete this window with your key number (or "Product key") and your contact information.
  5. Click on the "Activation" button.
  6. Wait a few moments, and another window will appear. It indicates that the activation of the licence has been successfully completed.
  7. Then close the software and restart it.
Once the licence has been activated, all access right updates will take place when the software is launched (extension of the duration of use, addition of additional modules, etc.).


What to do if the window does not appear?


Don't panic! Start the file explorer (you can use the "Windows" + E key combination) and go to the bin subdirectory of the Cover installation directory (by default C:\Cover\bin):




Double click on the LicenseManagerBoot file and validate the information window for the demo version:




The window allowing you to activate the licence will then appear:




Complete it with the activation code received, your first name, last name and email address and click on "Activation" (you must have an internet connection).

A message will tell you that the activation has been carried out and consequently, you will see the licence number assigned to you in the "ID" field at the bottom of the window.
